>>923716>>923717does this impact the quality of the meat much opposed to just killing it like the second post? going to be out on the ice all day for to fill my freezer with brookies, id like to keep the quality of the meat as high as possible, but bleeding out a fish on the ice seems a little rude to me for some reason
i was just taught to kill it once i catch it because keeping it in the cooler stresses it out and makes the meat taste worse, not too big on fish but im poor and need some meat, so id like the best i can get
>>923832when you cast a spinning rod, the weight of your lure carries it to its place
with fly fishing, the weight of the line is carrying the lure/fly because the things are near damn weightless, hence the different technique (casting the line vs casting the lure)
>>923859i want to tell you to go for it but im poor as fuck and fishing really hits the wallet hard
i tried to save money and started fishing this year with just bass in mind, now im sitting here with like $150 in dumb shit i bought to go ice fishing, the only reason i could afford it is because i put it on credit and paid it with my student loan
i would recommend just playing Fishing Planet and crying yourself to sleep
if you seriously do try to get into fishing with cost in mind, used rods and reels, local tackleshops for soft lures and bait (sometimes some places will just melt down plastics and sell their own cheap ass lures)
research the fuck out of whatever you're targeting, its the specialization that gets expensive
