I like just to go as cheap as possible not because im poor, what of course I am, but I find it of an interesting practice, being eco, using homemade tackle, natural baits, as many equipment as barely necessary, using same two rods for almost everything...
I also like to keep the catch, so I only fish for catchable species. I like preparing and try cooking them in different ways.
