A few more questions 1) has anyone used saltwater catfish as bait with success? Cats keep stealing my cut bait and I'd rather just kill them and use them for something useful rather than release and catch them again. I'm in Florida and regulations seem to allow it (saltwater cats are all unregulated), but from I see, they would really only work as bait for big fish (tarpon, shark, cobia, goliaths, etc.) whether live (with spines cut) or filleted. I'm only shore fishing so don't have as good of a chance with some of the big fish unless I go and fish a marina or something. If cats worked for drum or sea trout I'd be fine with that too, but the one time I've tried turned up nothing.
Second question, what's the best way to fish inlets? Fish directly in the middle or try to get the corners depending on where the tide is?
