Certainly not suitable for camping though, being on steep slopes. Walked through one a couple of weekends back and got stung to fuck by all manner of plants and insects. Still an absolute shame that there aren't more areas set aside for them.
The pine plantations have a charm of their own when the mist hangs in the high branches and there's no sounds to be heard at all, but they are definitely a bit lifeless.
