I hiked just a little bit once to get to the "eagle rock" view.
I mean it's cool to do thru trails that are less normie than PCT/App but you'd make me REALLY jealous if you tried to conquer the 300+ mile Allegheny trail even further to the west.
The mountains get prettier as you head west and you are still in the dry rainshadow part. Also, it's gonna be cold as fuck mostly the next week or two.

the nice thing about the allegheny trail is that there are lots of cool little things right off the trail, gaudineer knob, cheat high falls and I think it runs to near the VA/WV border to the south
