There are people who swear by them, but for most people the lack of space will be the deal breaker.
Me and 2 other people I know were all convinced by the light weight and packability benefits enough to get one, but all of us ended up buying a 2 person tent instead. As for myself a single rainy 3 night outing was enough to convince me that I'm perfectly willing and able to carry a bigger tent if it meant I could actually spend my time in the inside of it comfortably.
