>>2646342You'd definitely get a better night sky in Scotland (unless it's cloudy, which is very likely). Highlands are better /out/ than anywhere else in the UK and Ireland too.
Avoid the peaks if you want a decent night sky, they're sandwiched between Manchester and Sheffield.
North Wales has some good night skies. Snowdonia is probably the best /out/ in the UK outside of Scotland.
If you wanna stay near Yorkshire, go for the Yorkshire dales (or the Lakes if you want some nicer scenery)
