take themselves very seriously and act like it's the end of the world or something, hype up any possible danger so they can justify bringing all their hardware and firepower out (i dont care if you take guns out, just admit though its because you might want to fuck around and shoot things for fun, i get that, but the woodspsychos aint real). often get the sense some are kind of half living in a hollywood fantasy of theirs where everything is extremely dangerous and it's a serious situation, which is fine because in my head i'm finrod felagund when in the woods, but in both cases we are usually just sitting around a few miles from the nearest house with a bag full of food and a comfy tent etc, the pretense that it's real though is grating.
very gear obsessed, muricans are consumerist people in general and atleast online will never shut up about pretty insignificant details of their product and why its omg so vital much better than you're marginally worse tat.
kind of messy and disrespectful of nature a bit, seem to have to make a fire all the time even when there's no need and it's messing up a nice spot.
too many press f to pay respects types, and i cant think of anything else right now and am getting bored of typing this.
