tl;dr I love the cold but and I'm looking for a cheapish field coat.
My usual unskilled working class appearance (work jeans, old work boots, white tshirt under a Dickes button up shirt) only has the addition of pic related (cept mine is faded as fuck these days), a hoodie, and a wool hat in the Winter. Works great for accidentally scaring other white people on the way to work as well.
While /out/ though, I somewhat try to use less cotton, especially though if icy rain is a possibility.
Pants are usually my pair of LL Bean Timberledge's. Weren't too pricey, but better options out there. They aren't warm rather more of a shell I use over long johns or fleece-like pants.
Boots are a pair of 2010 Danner Pronghorns (Cabela's sale, couldn't pass up) or just pair of Wolverine Hiking boots depending on the temperature. Plus wool socks.
I usually wear 1 of the 2 old Woolrich shirts I inherited under my Carhartt jacket, but I really want to get a somewhat decent field coat. Preferably somewhat weather resistant. Obvious choices like Duluth or Filson come to mind, but a bit out of my desired budget. Fjallraven is God-tier according to my Uncle and cousins, but again the price range issue. I think I'll try thrifting for a bit like the other poorfags.
