>>1068602That's a good all around rod.
For lake fisherman from shore who are just getting started, I always reccommend something like that to start. 6'6" M with fast action will do almost everything for bass. 2nd rod, a UL with 4lb mono so you can go for panfish or smaller bass. 3rd rod- MH ~7' spinning rod with 12lb-14lb mono for carp, catfish, or heavy bass baits.
Then if you are mostly bass fishing, find out your preferences and go from there. Faster rods with braid are kinda nice for Texas rigs or other shit where you really want to feel what the bait is doing. I think my Fenwick Eagle is Med-Fast and that's probably the "slowest" rod. I don't really see a purpose for that aside from sometimes it gives spinners less jerky presentation when you are retrieving them. But if you have a M 6'6" Fast and a M 7'0" Fast rod, they will be really similar and can run almost any bass bait and that way you can swap between lures really fast without retying. The bigger difference is probably the line you run because you can have flouro on one and run lures deeper.
