>>398171>What makes driving in North Dakota so dangerous? Its just the concentration of so many vehicles on the roads within the main oilfield areas. and the amount of driving you do as part of the daily routine.
(pic related, on a *good* day)
So much oilfield traffic and highway traffic. Alot of big rigs hauling equipment and materials. Big equipment, Big materials. tankers, flat beds, dump trucks, vacuum trucks, water trucks, oil trucks, sand trucks, roustabout trucks, hot shots, farm equipment, going every where, constantly, 80 mph on the freeway, 50 mph out on the dirt/gravel side roads.
people are all in a big hurry. alot of pressure. alot of them are tired and not the best drivers. alot of aggressive drivers behind the wheel too.
the work continues through winter so you have all the regular hazards piled on top of winter road & weather conditions its a special game of survival.
don't worry you can do it and be fine if you've got you're head on your shoulders. but you have to be in survival mode, alert, constantly watch out for yourself all around you for traffic, heavy equipment, oilfield construction and operation activities, hazardous materials, including poisonous, explosive and flammable liquids and gases.
i hear that southern part of the state there are even rattlesnakes so yeah you got that too... ha ha.
just do your research, learn what you can from your friend thats already here, if thats what i thought you said in a post earlier.
