Go for the small cold blast hurricane lanterns, no need to go full bulk and I own two Feuerhand 276 lanterns, smallish but at night put off a ton of light, blinding if you overdo it. Super comfy, and honestly $10 worth of decent quality lantern oil will burn longer than $10 worth of AAs anyway
