Real freedom would be having a right to own land and having total control over it. Other countries do this and I don't like it. The whole idea how man "owns land" is ridiculous. The land was here long before us and will be here long after we're gone. Laws can give or take away ones right to utilize land, be it farming, cutting down trees, building a home or just walking through it. IMO if there is a forest somewhere today everyone should have a right to enjoy it. Roaming doesn't do much harm to the land but it allows people to enjoy nature. It's more socialism than freedom but in this rare case socialism is not a bad thing.
UK knife laws are quite different thing. They're all about treating honest law abiding citizens as criminals by default. They create an athmosphere of imprisonment. A computer or a phone can be used for all sorts of cyber crimes, should you ban computers and phones for the reason they can be used to commit a crime? The list goes on forever. Real criminals will have knives anyway, or guns actually.
