>>384362Indeed it is. This husking plate I made is perfect for small seeds. About 30 minutes ago I harvested a bunch of giant grass foxtail (Setaria faberi) seeds. I threshed them and put them in the oven for 10 minutes on 350F to dry out the husks a bit. Then I rand them through the grain mill with the husking plate on it and winnowed them in front of a fan. After that I made a bowl of porridge with them; added a little milk, sugar, and butter.
It was awesome and not all that difficult in the slightest. The porridge was just like oatmeal only the texture was different since these were only boiled and not ground, cut, or rolled.
So far I've husked the seeds for lamb's quarters, red clover, common/ribwort plantains, redroot pigweed, and several types of grasses.
