A few summers ago I got separated on a canoe trip after a spill, and garage sale'd a bunch of my gear down the river. Lost my tarp and tent, ended up sleeping under my canoe for two nights, both of which had thunderstorms. Would have been drenched every morning were it not for a cheapo mylar blanket and one of these pic rel. Drum liners I stole from work. Slipped it over my sleeping bag like a bivy, came almost to my shoulder. Face got eaten alive by 'skeeters so pair it with a bug net. Bonus points for ear plugs because all of these options are crinkly af
