>>638615Look into the german wirehaired pointer as well. If you get a german bred one, they will be top notch at hunting and guarding. In terms of training, I think they will be less difficult to train(still harder than normal dogs though) and they will be a great family dog as well.
And you can get at the size you want as well, it depends on the breed. From about 25kg to 35/40kg
