It's really fucking hot during the summer (95 today, and it'll only get worse) so everyone seeks shelter indoors, by the rivers, or in the mountains.
I'm really partial to the Redwood forests on the coast, especially around Santa Cruz or Arcata. It's so goddamn beautiful out there.
