>>2494226The Strongarm is a great soldier knife, but I maybe wouldn't go with one as an outdoor knife for camping, etc. because the use case is slightly different. The strongarm uses 420HC steel, which is very tough and low maintenance, but it is soft, that's where the toughness comes from, but as a result, it does not hold an edge for a very long time. That's why most of these types of knives come with serrations, so you can still rip through material even if the straight blade is dull.
For camping etc., toughness isn't quite as important as it is for a soldier, so I would go with a knife with harder steel, which will hold an edge longer and be better at working with wood etc.
