The dog and owners where walking the opposite direction when it charged us. I tried to put myself between the dog and my dog but that didn't work. Their dog pinned my dog down and wasn't doing the "alpha pin the dog down til it offers neck and stop" thing, it was biting my dog hard. I kicked it as hard as I could while drawing my pistol and I tried to kick it away from my dog so I wouldn't accidentally shoot my dog. The last kick hurt it and it stopped so I just ran off a few yards. I got the licence plate of the car and turned them over to animal control and they are going to ticket the owner. My dog had a puncture wound on its leg.
