Noob here trying to grow herbs in the northern U.S.A.
How do you guys manage to keep your soil warm and provide enough light? Been trying to germinate seeds and I already feel like I screwed up trying to start them indoors in this cursed weather.
Soil's cold when I touch my finger's in, the sun's blocked out, and any water I take from the tap's cold as well because every week it's like -3 degrees (F). I've tried using a refrigerator to heat em overnight, but that isn't near the sun, so I end up throwing them to the cold again.
Only thing growing are my dang radishes, which is expected I suppose. But I don't even like radishes that much.
Should I invest in more artificial ways of heating and providing light? And if yes, what are some good options for my first buys?
