Inexpensive and very packable, that's like the main feature of ours. Because, you always have it with you, but you sure hope you won't need to use it, so it's literally, a light, cheap bag to crawl into so that you survive the night, whereas the US ones are some weird-ass full grown tent-coffin hybrids.
Also, most traditional bivy bags are always for 2 people, since spooning gives you some extra warmth.
