I'm honestly really intrigued by increasingly-square shapes and the blunt bow we're seeing more of on ocean racing boats. I guess it's a matter of prismatic coefficient--the wider you are generally the more efficient when closer to hull speed? Which is effectively max speed on a sailboat.
>>2324108Owning a boat CAN be expensive and painful if you're dumb about it. I'm very much of the mind that the smaller the boat, the more fun it is. I've sailed 10-16 foot trailerable boats and would never want anything larger. Do what you can to minimize cost and effort, and you'll be okay.
