I never said kangaroos pursue dogs, but they do often fight back if a dog tries to chase them. Living out in the country I know people who have lost dogs to roos, whether they were just kicked to shit or drowned in a creek.
Being taller =/= being bigger, kangaroos are all muscle and much stronger than a person. If you grapple one it will grapple back and you'll be lucky to break free before it kicks you. Hell, they've killed people before and put many more in hospital.
Plus, a red kangaroo has arms nearly as long as a person's and much more muscled.
