It's certainly possible to reconcile Catholicism with a harmonious approach to nature, but it is not a prevailing theme, and other religions do it with less mental gymnastics. I wish the Church would put more emphasis on conservation, as in addition to being generally important I think it would be a good cause to win over more young people. Nobody in my generation cares about religion but they do feel lost and disgusted with modernity, and that can be channeled into something better.
