>>211460We had guys that did that when we were issued the MOLLE rucks. Kept the ALICE's because we could jump them unlike the MOLLE's. I had the TAG straps and belt, which are much more comfortable than the MOLLE stuff out the door.
Plus... if you have a MOLLE and an ALICE... why cannibalize one to make the other "better" if you're a civvie? Having both actually functional serves more purpose, since you can toss whichever you like less into your closet/trunk/behind the truck seat for emergency use or loan to a friend to go /out/ with.
Just my take. Here's a picture the wife made for someone who was having trouble figuring out how to thread the bottom ruck attachment straps on an ALICE.
