My buddy was the same way. Never used panfish and only wanted to target walleye, I served him a fresh batch of perch and he was hooked (get it Xd)
I tried the cheeks a few times on the big ones I got last fall and I didn’t see any difference between them and a normal piece of fillet. Maybe it’s because I’m not big on eating fish in general
