Drop-shot, dropper loop rigs, and 3-way rigs are all almost the same thing. I would probably do the dropper loop or 3-way if fishing bait, drop shot pretty much for lures. Idk how true this is, but word on the street is you can get some shitty bites on drop shots because the tight main line is right there by the bait and fish could potentially run into it while going for the bait.
And don't overthing the Owner hook thing. It's a good brand but there are lots of other good brands too.
