Had a run in with 3-4 heroin addicts last weekend, I camped about 400 yards from an old dufunct fire watch tower. Unknown to me shit like is hobo central, even in a national Forest, one of my party tried climbing it around midnight, since we could see it in the moonlight and ran into a couple of them, one brandished a knife but he was able to make it down and back to camp.
Well they followed him or they saw our fire from the tower (ironic), and they were skulking around our camp all fucking night, yelling in the trees and being fucking drug addicts. I had picrelated on my hip and in my hands, about 1 am, I assume they saw the guns, since I was trying to show them off in the moonlight without telling them "I have a fucking gun you degenerates", since a buddy said that would be provocation or some fucking bullshit. I heard one of them saw the word gun, and then try all fucked off real quick.
Never really left, just skulked around outside hearing distance, and did drugs in the tower all night, we never went to bed.
Not a great night, staying amped and ready to shoot them for 6 hours till Dawn. A few times I had them in my fucking sights, 30 ft from camp in the trees.
Not a fun night.
