Canal world discussion forum has a wealth of information if you search it, but it's full of grumpy pedantic boomers, a lot who have been on the forum forever and often don't even own boats anymore. There's not a lot to learn about navigating, most of which you can learn from doing a quick search on YouTube and stuff. There's a ton of content that glamourises the nature of living aboard, and often massively downplays the costs associated - life aboard is something to do because you love it, not to save some cash (though in some circumstances it can end up cheaper). Robby Cumming's canal boat diaries on bbc4 covers a bunch of stuff, is mostly accurate and is a pretty chill watch. Any other questions, I'm always happy to answer.
