Caught my personal best south florida peacock yesterday. I find reaidential "lakes" that have shallow concrete bottoms and the water still gets warm enough to keep the fish active in the middle of December. This male is spawning. My go-to lures are xrap 8's. I've become especially fond of the deep runner xraps too. If the fish are on the bottom, I like to use casting jigs. I'm looking to get a bait casting setup. I really like my current St. Croix rod and would like another. Which reel would you guys recommend? Price isn't a big deal.
