I've been thinking of packing a bug out bag.
It'd be mostly for bushfires, but I might as well make it general purpose. It'd be for 2 or maybe 3 days if I had to leave the house with zero warning.
The stuff I've been thinking of putting in it:
>Wool blanket
>Wool thermals (long-sleeve top and bottom)
>Cotton change of clothes and a jacket
>Few pairs of socks
>Beanie
>Food (MRE type stuff, equivalent of around two rat packs)
>Water (probably 2L, in a dry summer I might up it to 3L)
>Tarp + cordage
>Knife, maybe a multi-tool as well
>Matches + fire starter + cotton wool
>Basic cookware (probably just a billy and a spork)
>First aid kit (haven't decided what I'd put in it yet)
>A couple of pocket packs of tissues
>Miniature travel toothbrush+toothpaste
>Money
>Compass and a map of the local area
>Might pack a few handgun mags and some ammo, but then I'd legally have to put a padlock on the bag
Anything else I should add? Pic related is the kind of environment near me.
