>>1558657The design you have is quaint and I like it. Yes, a propane torch will make your life much easier for ridding those paths of weeds. I put down roofing plastic underlayment under the gravel of my path. When I weed it the weeds just pop out and I shake out the gravel from their roots. It is really easy. If you use a torch, carry a 2-3' wide piece of sheet metal/old roofing and use it to make a quick barrier between the area you are flaming and your plants. That will make things quick and easy to do while protecting your plants from the flames so you can get pretty close.
Where I live in the USA, I have a Hazard Fraught Tools store and a weed burning propane torch is like $19USD. The expensive ones are like $90-$100 though. Renting one for £19/$20usd a day seems damn excessive. If you have anything like a hardware store or whatever, I highly suggest buying one. Just search for "propane torch weed burner," or "roofing gas torch." Check
