>>809673There's actually quite a lot of fungi that grow here. I also live in that region and only just started hunting about a year ago, but I've found quite a few, some edible. The best time to look is after a good rain, which can be rare sometimes, but they are still pretty common.
I believe this is a bicolor bolete I found in NW Austin.
