>>2763484>But for what reason is it THAT expensive?same reasons anything is overly expensive: someone is going to buy it
i think at maximum, $500-$1000 is the cap for a pipe, anything more is essentially the "$1,000,000 WAGYU STEAK!!!!", which is actually just a $5 cut of fat leaden jib that is covered in a millions worth of gold flakes & truffles
the $1000 part might sound like a lot, but there really are some legit good artists, which mostly, don't create anything anymore for whatever reason, creating the additive value out of scarcity, anything over that is to the point of criminal though
the biggest issue i see however, is that seemingly 99% of the expensive pipes are just a boring looking pipe that'll smoke as good as a $50 pipe, assuming you'd even do such a thing to sully it's price
some of the most enjoyable pipes you get are $5, since they smoke just fine & and you're not afraid to use them
and if it ain't an art piece, it should be used, and its hard to justify spending an upward of $200 just to get something that'll smoke as good as a visually defected cob you get in a 10 for $10 deal, when all the while the money could have been spent on tobacco, which is ever changing, temporary, and so diverse you'd never have the lifetime to try every one
