I too want to live in a cabin innawoods but I realize I'm probably going to need at least $100-200K cash to make it happen at a level that it would be enjoyable
I have little desire to build a house in a clandestine manner as there's always a chance normies will try to take it from you. You could probably find a place in the mountains where there's a 400 sq ft shed limit without a preexisting structure and little chance of inspections. Though you will never have grid power or water/sewer. I personally could live with a shit bucket and solar but internet would be nice for a full time habitation.
https://www.itinyhouses.com/tiny-homes/washington-man-builds-400-square-foot-lakeside-tiny-house-retirement-home/I live in north CO and I've seen these lots for sale in Castilla County. For just $6000 you too can have a piece of the rock and the American Dream. But it's just a windy desert hellhole with the nearest attraction being the sand dunes. You better have a reliable fucking truck and some source of income or savings. You're not getting a job out there. Have fun transporting construction materials or paying for their delivery. I wouldn't want to try to finance land or get a construction mortgage on my cuck shed in the woods. This is what you're trying to escape obviously.
I have my eye on coastal oregon, i can get a decent plot of land residentially zoned with power, water and an ocean view for about 100K or less. I can live with a septic system. I would probably live in an RV while constructing the house over a period of years. Meanwhile I am trying to start a business because it's going to take a lot of saving as a mere wageslave.
