I am brand new to fishing, just started this year and only have a rod and reel and stick to shore fishing mainly going for rainbow trout with the bait I use. I live near the San Bernardino Nat. Forest in California (yes I know, fuck me) and whenever I go fishing in any of the popular day spots like Jens lake or Lake Greogory, everyone is just catch and release fishing and I'm too afraid to ask anyone "hey can I eat the fish I catch here?" because yes I am that autistic.
