Day 2: Painter Basin and Anderson Pass
I woke up around 5:30am and decide to get out and test my ankle. It wasn’t swollen and it wasn’t hurting like it did the night before. We had a lot of steep hiking to do today so I ran up and down some steep grades to test the ankle. Miraculously it was feeling great. I was getting some pains on declines but I just had to make sure my foot was pointed as straight as possible downhill when I was stepping and there virtually no pain. I was happy I didn’t have to cancel the rest of the hike, I just had to concentrate on every step I took.
We ate big bowls of oatmeal for breakfast and packed up and hit the trail again at 9am. Later than we wanted to cuz it was gonna be a long ass day to get over the pass.
