>>2396655>>2396558Yes many tree seeds especially need to be cold stratified before they will sprout. I have done this with all sorts of things, most recently cornelian cherries and these hazelnuts. Most things like the cornelian cherries I just tossed in a plastic container with slightly moist soil and some room to breathe and left them in the fridge, they took about 9 months. The hazel nuts were a little more complicated but about the same.
