Also it wasn't that broken, I just had to unbend the bail bar and hook some springs back up and it was good as new.
Spinning reels are designed to close their bails themselves and have been from the invention of the bail bar. If your reel could get hurt from this normal functioning process, it's a shit reel.

Ps, if you have a vintage spinning reel like this and you feel resistance closing the bail manually, maybe fucking look and see the steel bar preventing the bail from rotating you dumb ape.
