>>1918284Watch the forecast and try to get out fishing as or just before a cold front hits. It's honestly crazy how big a difference it makes. I hit a cold front a few days ago to catch rainbows, browns, and lake trout. Early in the day it was super windy and kind of warm and the fishing was absolutely insane. Every cast I was getting hit or one would follow it up. Normally in that spot I would consider it lucky to get a limit of 4 in a full day of fishing. Around 3pm it suddenly got calm for 30 or so minutes, then the front hit and it got windy again and the temperature started dropping fast. Just one bite for the rest of the day after that. It ended up going from 60 around noon to 25 and snowy that night, and the fish knew it was coming.
