Now that I'm a civyfag like everybody else, I hump an old steel frame pack from 1939 and a bunch of leather kit because I like the aesthetics and the history of it. I don't go /out/ to hunt people with machineguns anymore, so my priorities are different.
If you just want a pack for regular civie shit, don't spend so much to get an MR. I go /out/ with what you see in picrel, and derp around in nature with my dog, and that is still less LARPy than doing it in an MR. However, if you wanna LARP as Tier 1 marsoperatorspecrecon (I won't judge), or if your life depends on your kit, knock yourself out.
