I'm stuck with a balcony and have never grown anything from seeds except when I was a really small child. Got drunk and ordered some seeds, specifically chard, pak choi and salad seeds.
I have succesfully kept plants alive and harvested those in the past, specifically chilis, tomatoes and various herbs, but seeds are new to me.
So two questions:
1. Do I just put the seeds into soil in pots, like the packages instruct (similar to how you would in a garden)? Do I water agressively the first week(s) until they sprout? Or do I grow the seeds in a shallower bowl of sorts (or even indoors) first until they sprout and then transplant them to their final pots?
2. In 2 days I will be gone for 3 days, is it better to start planting the seeds now, so I have those 5 days headstart, or is it better to wait because I can't water those 2-3 days?
Thanks anons, I finally want to grow some more stuff in my prison that is this city apartment.
