I actually think it's spawned from the fact that he taps in to some element of hopes and dreams with lifelong NEETs. They don't have to eat. They don't have to wash. They don't have to change clothes. They can tell mommy to go screw herself(!), pick up their Ninja Tortle backypack and go travel the world aaall by themselves. They don't need a job. Not really. If they really wanted to, they could be just like Vagrant Holiday...
