I bought some Peruvian purple corn (maiz morado) a few days ago from a food supplier instead of a seed store/nursery (
http://www.amigofoods.com/pefomamo15oz.html ). Yesterday, I got them in the mail and set a few to soaking for 8 hours. I put them on a wet paper towel in a air -puffed ziplock bag and set them on a plate over the warm spot above my stove's burner cap pilot light area. Today, 5 of them have sprouted.
Now, I'm soaking all the rest for eight hours. I'll be planting them this evening. I just came in from hoeing the soil where these will be planted. I'm refraining from using my tiller so I can get a good workout.
