I myself went for the DRZ400 after a little debate between it and the DR650. They where the same price, but the 400 is a much more capable trail bike than the 650. I got a 17 litre(actually holds 20) tank for it. Radiator guards, bash plate, bark busters, alloy fat bars with risers, and a full stainless Staintune exhaust.
A "giant loop" brand saddle back for the back plus a medium sized back pack carried my arse up to Cape York and back over a 2 week trip.
