For a short camping trip deep into the woods this would be a waste unless you just like a hard workout, but if say you were planning to set up a long term shelter and place you would spend possibly weeks, months or years at a time, these two options are not bad for their weight, and honestly if I was setting up a long term primitive encampment both would be convenient for their alternate purposes, until you build your own mudfurnace or fireplace using clay and natural materials.
I would also like to mention Murphys unspoken law "if you Can, then Do It" so long as you dont mind it becoming damaged or lost at some point, and can make do with other means to cook food and boil your water/heat your shelter.
Just bring something or build a travois to do the heavy lifting for you
That being said for a shtf bugout scenario that would be most impractical if you are needing to get somewhere remote really fucking fast.
