>>2150778Not him but I dislike trophy hunters not because I think they really do damage to wildlife numbers in a significant way (like you said, the locals overrun them badly already) but because the nobility of hunting comes from the direct intimate participation, in nature that is hunting for sustenance. There is no respect or enlightenment that can come from game hunting.
Every sustenance hunter I've met has been wise, stoick and fit. Every big game glamour hunter I have met is either a middle-upper class old boomer larping as a Victorian naturalist, or thier privileged offspring. They always have shakey confidence, a bad, or immature attitude and are about as insightful as a trip to Wal-Mart.
That isn't to say that as a sustenance hunter you can't have fun hunting or want a trophy from your more impressive kills but these two types of hunters are an entirely different character.
