Using a bike is great since you can have a many panniers on the front and back of it to carry gear. You don't even need to ride it, you can use just walk along side it, meaning you can really load it down with tons of stuff. They are good for packing in camping supplies like that too. Where I live, the places you can park are a long long ways from where you actually fish and you can end up 10-15 miles away. Having a bike to get back onto a road at the other end and pedal back to the vehicle is a lot better than walking (there's no off trail biking here due to terrain and rain forest).
