i'm going to be buying th DD Jungle Hammock to replace my old rothco which is half eaten and reeks of chipmunk piss after an incident this past autumn. the version i'm getting will have both top and bottom waterproof tarps, and I'm thinking I might do some winter camping in it. not the coldest nights, but as the thaw starts there'll be plenty of 25º-30º nights.
It won't seal as right as a tent does, but will def protect against precipitation and wind really well.
I'm thinking if it pair it with my 50º fleece sleeping bag as a pad (or in the sleeping bag as a liner) i should be pretty well nestled and comfy. y'all think this rig will be good for 3 1/2 season camping?
