Falling out of a kayak into a mountain lake, at night, after a thunderstorm suddenly came upon us with my dry bag open.
Or
Working outside at night, during a partial white out blizzard, while trudging through snow looking for sage grouse.
Or
At that same job during the day, doing 10 hours of plant surveys on a remote mountain side during alternate periods of stinging icy rain and 30 mph wind gusts.
But I guess the real one is, going for a trail run, popping cartilage off the back of my knee cap, and not being able to do that shit as much as I used to. As much as nature can try to kill you and ruin your day, a bad day /out/ is still better than a good day /in/.
